Important information for parents – COVID-19 Update

Following advice from the Victorian Government, Noble Park English Language School will be moving to remote and flexible learning from Term 2 (starting on Wednesday, 15 April 2020).

This is a step all Victorian government schools are taking to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer.

We will continue to offer limited on-site learning for those students who need to access this, including for students on days when they are not able to be supervised at home and no other arrangements can be made.  We will provide further information about this shortly.

The Department’s latest advice on coronavirus can be found at https://www.education.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

It is important that we work together and support each other during this challenging time. We will be in touch with staff and parents and carers shortly with further details of what remote and flexible learning will look like at our school.

In the meantime, you might find it useful to look at the Department’s Learning from Home website. It provides resources and guidance for teachers and parents and carers. https://www.education.vic.gov.au/about/department/Pages/learningfromhome.aspx

Chinese Dance Performance

Chinese Dance Performance

Today, students at the Noble Park campus enjoyed a delightful Chinese Dance Performance to celebrate cultural diversity. Students even learned different dance moves and various Chinese phrases with the performer. Thanks very much to Ms Geeta for organising this event.

Celebrating NAIDOC Week with Western Creation

Celebrating NAIDOC Week with Western Creation

Noble Park English Language School has always placed an emphasis on educating our students about Australian history and Aboriginal history. Just like previous years, we celebrated NAIDOC Week and Sorry Day with a very special performance by Big Al and his sons from Western Creations. Students participated in fun Aboriginal dances and learnt about indigenous culture. Thanks very much for the excellent performances, and thanks to the hardworking staff who organised this amazing event.

Water Safety Program

Water Safety Program

This term, students of Noble Park English Language School are extremely fortunate to receive a fantastic Water Safety Program delivered by Life Saving Victoria at Bon Beach. Students could go in the water with lifeguards to learn how to stay safe in the water. Students could play with surfboards, wear life jackets, learn how to float and play lots of fun beach games.

As many drowning incidents happen among new arrivals, we find it extremely important for our students to learn how to be safe around water. No matter they are children, teenagers or adults, nobody should swim alone. Also, we should always read the signs on the beach and always swim between the yellow flags.

International Day Concert

International Day Concert

Last week we had 2 International Day concerts. One was at the Noble Park campus and the other was at the Casey campus. Both concerts were a huge success. The theme this year is “Different People, Stand Together”. The concert celebrates multiculturalism as there are students and staff from over twenty different nations at our school. Students showcased their culture through costumes, dancing and music.

Thank you all the staff and students who worked so hard all term practising and co-ordinating the concert.

Celebrating ES Week

Celebrating ES Week

Last week we celebrated ES (Education Support) Week. Our school would not be able to function without these amazing people supporting us. The ES staff were presented with cards by students from the SRC and a special morning tea to celebrate their hard work. Thank you all so very much!
